The current fights over who may speak and what counts as ‘news’ call Christians to defend the God‑ordained dignity of truthful speech while also practicing restraint: Scripture urges us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and to tame the tongue because words build or destroy (James 3). At the same time the Bible condemns threats and violence, so Christians should support lawful accountability for true threats while resisting censorship that chills honest, charitable public witness (Romans 12:17–18).
