Our reflections begin with historic Christian commitments while recognizing that faithful churches differ on interpretation, polity, public witness, and disputed doctrine.
Core commitments
We affirm the triune God; the authority and witness of the Old and New Testaments; the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; salvation by grace; the work of the Holy Spirit; the dignity of people made in God's image; the church's calling to worship, truth, mercy, justice, reconciliation, and hope; and the resurrection life to come.
How Scripture is handled
A cited verse is not self-interpreting. Reflections should identify relevant passages, respect literary and historical context, avoid claiming certainty where Christians disagree, and never use a biblical text merely as decoration for a predetermined political conclusion.
Nonpartisan and ecumenically aware
No party, candidate, nation, or denomination is treated as the kingdom of God. Where traditions reach different conclusions, an outlook should name the ambiguity and invite pastoral judgment rather than flatten the disagreement.
