The headlines about violent crime, protests, corporate misconduct, and debt relief call the church to hold fast to biblical commands to pursue justice and show mercy (Micah 6:8) while upholding the rule of law and due process (Romans 13). Scripture warns against greed and exploiting the vulnerable (Proverbs 22:16; Luke 6:24–26), and also calls believers to lament with victims, pray for the accused and those harmed, and seek reconciliation grounded in truth and repentance.
