The recent stories—infidelity, public scandal, broken engagements, and even violent consequences—underscore how relational sin and secrecy wound the covenantal fabric God designed for marriage and community; Scripture honors marriage as sacred (Hebrews 13:4) and warns against sexual immorality (Matthew 5:27–28). At the same time the Bible calls believers to both truth and mercy: expose and reckon with sin where justice and protection are needed, but pursue repentance, restoration, and compassionate care for the wounded (James 5:16; Ephesians 4:32).
