Grounded Viewpoint

The Olympic Games, intended as a global symbol of unity and peace, are marred by ongoing conflict and political division—reminding us of humanity's persistent struggle with sin and our need for true reconciliation (Romans 12:18). Yet, stories of resilience, healing, and camaraderie among athletes echo biblical themes of perseverance, mutual respect, and hope (Hebrews 12:1-2; Philippians 2:3-4), even as the world’s brokenness intrudes upon the spirit of the Games. As Christians, we are called to pray for peace and be agents of unity amid division, seeking God’s kingdom where every nation, tribe, and tongue are brought together in Christ (Revelation 7:9).
