Grounded Viewpoint
The outbreaks of violence, leadership upheaval, and widespread suffering described here call the church to biblical lament and urgent prayer — Scripture repeatedly mourns the cost of war on the innocent and warns against proud or unjust rulers (e.g., Psalms, Proverbs, Ezekiel). At the same time Christians are summoned to pursue peace, pray for those in authority, and show compassion to refugees and the wounded (Matthew 5:9; 1 Timothy 2:1–2; Matthew 25:35–40), trusting God’s ultimate justice while working for mercy and wise peacemaking now.
