An exclusive Harris poll reported by The Guardian finds widespread public concern about government corruption ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. The article says 76% of respondents believe government officials care more about self-enrichment than helping everyday Americans, and that nearly nine in ten Americans view government corruption (defined in the poll as elected officials putting their own or donors’ financial interests ahead of the public’s) as a problem. The Guardians' piece frames corruption as a top issue for midterm voters based on those poll results.
