These incidents — from long TSA lines and understaffed security to shootings, a missing elder, and attacks on houses of worship — expose our communal vulnerability and the human cost of violence and disorder. Scripture calls us to defend the weak, pursue justice, and be peacemakers (Psalm 82:3–4; Matthew 5:9), urging both compassionate care for victims and wise civic action to protect neighbors while we pray for God’s comfort and guidance.
