Grounded Viewpoint
These business stories—mergers and consolidation, trade protection and tariffs, cultural preservation projects, and layoffs/worker health risks—point to the biblical duties of justice, stewardship, and care for the vulnerable. Scripture calls for honest commerce and fair measures (Proverbs 11:1), defense of workers and the oppressed (James 5:4; Deuteronomy 24:14–15), wise stewardship of resources (Genesis 2:15; Colossians 3:23), and a warning not to make security or identity out of wealth or power (Luke 12:15). Christians are called to engage these economic realities with prudence, compassion, and a commitment to the common good.
